1) What is IBPS?

IBPS is an autonomous body which has received a mandate from various organizations to conduct the recruitment process of clerical cadre for banks in India.

Since 2011, around 20 nationalized banks have been employing IBPS to conduct this exam on a yearly basis.

A large number of openings along with the widely popular perks make the IBPS clerk, one of the most sought-after professions in the country.

This article explains in detail the syllabus, IBPS recruitment schedule, exam pattern (preliminary and mains).

2) IBPS Clerk Exam Syllabus 2016:

The IBPS Clerk Exam consists of 5 sections, namely:

1. Quantitative Aptitude
2. Reasoning
3. English Language
4. General Awareness
5. Computer Knowledge

3) IBPS Clerk Exam Syllabus for Quantitative Aptitude:

Usually, students consider Quantitative Aptitude as the most difficult section in the IBPS Clerk Exam. With, you can easily master each section and practice a large number of questions to achieve good scores. This section includes questions from data interpretation, simple and compound interest, and time and work, etc.

4) IBPS Clerk Exam Syllabus for Reasoning:

Reasoning section is considered the most scoring section in the IBPS Clerk Exam. This section covers questions from analogy, syllogism, and alphabet test, etc.

5) IBPS Clerk Exam Syllabus for English Language:

The English Language section will have questions from antonyms, active/passive voice, and passage completion, etc. The English section requires a lot of practice to avoid losing marks in silly mistakes.

6) IBPS Clerk Exam Syllabus for General Awareness:

The General Awareness includes current affairs, Indian economy, and banking awareness, etc. To prepare for this section keep yourself updated with current affairs on an everyday basis. Rather than mugging up the facts, spend some time on following the NEWS regularly.

7) IBPS Clerk Exam Syllabus for Computer Knowledge:

The Computer Knowledge section covers questions related to hardware & software, and basic knowledge of computer, etc. The computer knowledge covers basic questions about computers and is an easy to score section.

8) IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern:

In the IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam, the aspirants will have to cover three different sections i.e., English language, numerical ability and reasoning. The English language section will carry 30 marks, numerical ability 35 marks and reasoning ability 35 marks. The exam has to be completed in the duration of 1 hour, which means completing one question in 60 seconds on an average. Hence, you will also have to work on your time management skills to clear the exam.

Coming to the IBPS Clerk Mains Exam, the aspirants will be given questions from reasoning, general awareness, English language, quantitative aptitude and computer knowledge. Reasoning and quantitative aptitude carry 50 marks each, English language and general awareness carry 40 marks each and computer knowledge section carries 20 marks which have to be completed in 2 hours and 15 minutes. You can only spend about 67 seconds on each question in the mains.

9) IBPS Clerk Cutoff 2016:

Calculation of IBPS Clerk Cutoff 2016:

The Cutoff will be applied in two different stages:
(i) One would be scores in individual tests
(ii) The other being the total score

Formula for Arriving at the IBPS Cutoff on Total Scores:

Total Score = Scores obtained in (English Language + Reasoning + Quantitative Aptitude + Computer Knowledge + General Awareness)
Mean - 3/4th of Standard Deviation for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD/EXS categories
Mean - 1/4th of Standard Deviation for General Category
As per requirement, there will be a second level cutoff point on total.

Understanding the IBPS Clerk Cutoff 2016:

The IBPS Clerk 2016 cutoffs will be declared in three heads. The candidates would have to satisfy all the three cutoffs to be considered for the next round of recruitment process.
Coming to the Sectional Cut off of IBPS Clerk 2016: The cutoff marks as per the subjects or sections are mainly the marks that a candidate needs to secure to clear each section. In other words, it is the minimum qualifying marks one need for each section.

Important Points Related to IBPS Clerk Cutoff 2016:

- Cutoffs can be considered as a selection benchmark.
- Once a candidate scores marks equal to or more than the IBPS Clerk Cut off, he/she will be selected for the next round of recruitment process.
- It is important to score well in all the stages to increase one's chances of final selection.

10) IBPS Clerk CWE VI 2016 Exam Schedule:

Here are the important dates related IBPS Clerk Exam, 2016:

This year the online registration started on 22nd August, 2016 and the last date for submission of online application was 12, September, 2016.
The pre-exam training admit card will be available for download from 25th October to 7th November, 2016.
The date for pre-exam training will be from 7th November to 12th November, 2016.
The pre-online exam admit card will be available from 18th November, 2016, and the pre-examination date is 26th November to 4th December, 2016.
The pre-exam results will be declared in December 2016, and the main online exam admit card will ne available towards the end of December, 2016.
The main examination dates are 31st December, 2016 and 1st January, 2017.
The result of the main online exam will be declared in January 2017, and the final round which is the interviews will be conducted in February, 2017.
The provisional allotment of IBPS clerk seats would begin in April, 2017.

11) IBPS Clerk CWE VI 2016 Exam Eligibility:

1. Nationality

2. Educational Qualification

- Applicants should hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India.
Note: (1) All the educational qualifications mentioned should be from a University/ Institution/ Board recognised by Govt. Of India/ approved by Govt. Regulatory Bodies and the result should have been declared on or before 12.09.2016
- Aspirants should possess the operating and working knowledge in computer and have a certificate/diploma/degree in computer operations/language or should have studied computer/information technology as one of the subjects in the high school/college.

3. Computer Knowledge - Candidates must have Knowledge of operating a computer. They should have a Diploma/Certificate / Language /Degree in computer operations/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the College/ Institute /High School.

4. Language Skills: Aspirants must be proficient in the official language of the state/Union Territory through which he/she is applying. This includes reading/writing and speaking.

12) IBPS Clerk CWE VI 2016 Age Limit:

All interested aspirants should be in between 20 to 28 years as on 01.08.2016, a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1988 and not later than 01.08.1996 (both dates inclusive).
