Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts a Common Written Examination on a yearly basis (IBPS CWE PO/MT) for young and talented job seekers.

The exam is conducted on two levels: Preliminary and Main Exam, followed by an Interview.

IBPS PO CWE VI 2016 Exam Eligibility:

1. Nationality

Candidates must be:
- A citizen of Indian, Nepal, Bhutan or Tibetan refugee.
- Migrated People from various countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

2. Educational Qualification

- The applicants should hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India.

3. Persons with Disabilities

- This includes people who are visually impaired, deaf and hearing impaired, and orthopedically challenged.

IBPS PO CWE VI 2016 Age Limit:

The candidates applying for the exam must be between 20 to 30 years of age as on 01.07.2016.

IBPS PO CWE VI 2016 Exam Schedule:

Here are the important dates related IBPS PO Exam, 2016:

This year the online registration for the IBPS PO exam started on 26th July, 2016. The last date for payment of application fees was 13th August, 2016.
The call letters for pre-exam training will be available from 29th September to 8th October, 2016.
The pre-exam training will begin from 3rd October till 8th October, 2016.
The call letters for online-exam preliminary will be available in October, 2016.
The online preliminary exam will be conducted on 16th October, 22nd October and 23rd October, 2016.
The results for online exams - preliminary will be declared in November, 2016.
The call letters for online exam - main will be available for download in November, 2016.
The online exam - main will be held on 20th November, 2016, and the result will be declared in December, 2016.
The call letters for interview will be available for download in January 2017, and the interviews will be conducted in January/February, 2017.
The provisional allotment of IBPS PO seats would begin in April, 2017.

IBPS PO CWE Syllabus 2016:

The IBPS PO Exam consists of 5 sections, namely:

1. Quantitative Aptitude
2. Reasoning Ability
3. English Language
4. General Awareness
5. Computer Knowledge

IBPS PO Exam Syllabus for Quantitative Aptitude:

The Quantitative Aptitude can be a little difficult for some students, but with the right tricks one can easily score well. It consists of Data Interpretation, Clocks, Average, and Time and Work, etc. With accuracy, speed and the right time management skills, you can easily solve the questions.

IBPS PO Exam Syllabus for Reasoning Ability:

With proper planning and regular practice, the aspirants can easily score a lot in the reasoning section. This section includes Analogy, Blood Relation, and Classification and Series Test, etc.

IBPS PO Exam Syllabus for English Language:

The English language section would cover topics like Spotting the Errors, Idioms and Phrases and Passage Completion, etc. Aspirants usually feel that this section doesn't require a lot of hard work and avoid it. This results in a lot of mistakes during the exam. Don't ignore this section and practice on a regular basis to avoid making common errors.

IBPS PO Exam Syllabus for General Awareness:

The General Awareness section has questions from topics like Indian Financial System, Banking Terms and History of Indian Banking System, etc. Unlike the common assumption, this section requires focus and regular revision of current affairs. General awareness is more of a habit than a theoretical subject.

IBPS PO Exam Syllabus for Computer Knowledge:

The Computer Knowledge section covers questions related to History of Computers, Internet Terms and Services and Basic Functionalities of MS Office, etc. It is an easily scorable section.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern:

IBPS PO Preliminary Exam consists of three sections having a total of 100 marks, to be completed in the duration of 1 hour. This means the students have to complete 1 question in about 60 seconds. Since this is just a qualifying round, so the marks secured in the Prelim Exam will not be counted for the purpose of Final Selection.

IBPS PO Main Exam is divided into five sections consisting of 200 questions which have to be completed in 140 minutes. This implies that aspirants have to complete 1 question in about 70 seconds to finish the paper in time.

IBPS PO Cutoff 2016:

Formula for the IBPS Cut Off:

Mean - 3/4th of Standard Deviation for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD categories.
Mean - 1/4th of Standard Deviation for General Category.

IBPS PO marks and score card for prelims 2016 examination have been released on the official website (www.ibps.in) along with cut-off marks. IBPS PO Prelims score card will only be available till the 20th of November, 2016.

More than 2 million candidates had appeared for the PO Prelims exam, while only around 2 lakh candidates could make it to the mains exam. The IBPS PO main exam is scheduled to be held on November 20. The admit cards for IBPS PO Mains have also been uploaded on the official site. As per the rules, the prelim exam stands qualifying in nature, while the marks obtained only in main exam will be considered for shortlisting for Interviews and Final Merit listing.

The cut-off was applied in two stages to calculate the score of each candidate:

on scores in individual tests
on total score

The prelim cut-off for general category - 7.00 for English Language, 8.50 for Reasoning Ability and 8.25 for Quantitative Aptitude. For other candidates, the individual cut-off is 4.50, 5.50 and 5.25 in respective sections.

The cut-off on total score was 47.50 marks for General category, 46.50 for OBC, 40.00 for SC, and 31.25 for ST.
