SBI PO Exam:

State Bank of India provides various opportunities for job seekers in India. It conducts a national level recruitment examination for the appointment of Probationary Officers.

The written exam is held in two stages, preliminary and mains.

Candidates qualifying for the preliminary examination are shortlisted to appear in the main examination and those who clear the main exam are called for Group Discussion & Interview.

SBI PO 2016 Exam Eligibility:

Educational Qualification
- The candidate should be a graduate in any discipline from a University recognised by the Government of India.

Persons with Disabilities
- This includes people who are visually impaired, hearing impaired and orthopedically challenged.

Nationality
- The candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan or Tibetan Refugee.
- Migrated people from various countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Other
- One should be free of any record of default in repayment of loans/ credit card dues and without any adverse report with CIBIL or any external agency.
- If there is any adverse report regarding the character, moral turpitude and antecedents of the candidate then he/she will not be eligible for the post.

SBI PO 2016 Age Limit:

The candidates applying for the exam must be between 21 to 30 years of age as on 01.04.2016.

SBI PO Exam Schedule:

Although the exam dates for this year have passed, but aspirants should start preparing for the next year exam from now onwards itself.

With thousands of aspirants appearing for the exam every year, the competition is very tough. Candidates need to focus on each section and work on their time management skills.

The online registration for the SBI PO exam usually starts in the month of May-June. After the declaration of the prelim results, the main exam gets conducted in the month of July-August and the call letters for the interview are sent to the qualifying candidates.

SBI PO Exam Pattern 2016:

Preliminary Examination
- The total marks are 100 (consisting of 3 sections), and the duration of the exam is 1 hour.
- Thus you will have to complete 1 question in about 60 seconds to complete the paper in time.

Main Examination
Objective Test:
- Objective Tests consists of 200 marks, the exam will be for the duration of 3 hours consisting of 4 sections along with separate timing for each section.
Descriptive Test:
- Descriptive Test is of 30 minutes comprising of 50 marks.

Sectional Analysis of SBI PO Mains 2016:

1. Quantitative Aptitude - As it was expected, the questions from this section were quite difficult.
2. Reasoning & Computer Aptitude - In this section, this time there were lesser puzzles and it was moderately difficult, which means that it all comes down to accuracy. This year, there were no questions from the Computer section.
3. English Language - In the English Language section, there were two reading comprehensions and no cloze test. There were questions from statement fillers, antonyms and synonyms asked separately. A question with one paragraph and three options also got introduced.
4. General Awareness - This year, the questions from this section were moderate to easy. From the total no. of questions, 60% were from events that occurred between May-July, 10% questions were from events that occurred in April-May and 10 % questions were from the banking awareness section.
