MH CET Exam (Engineering and Technology):

The MH-CET or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is an annual entrance exam conducted by the Government of Maharashtra.

This exam is to get admission to various undergraduate Engineering, Health Sciences, and Pharmacy programs, into colleges across Maharashtra.

Every year around 4 lakh students appear for this exam.

MHT-CET 2016 (Engineering and Technology) Eligibility:

Nationality:

Aspirants should be citizen of India.

Age:

Candidates must be 17 years of age on the year of examination.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates appearing for MHT CET should have passed 10+2 from any recognized Board in India.
Aspirants should have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
For SC/ST/OBC candidates minimum marks requirement this year was 45%.

For Diploma Holders:

Applicants should have done a Diploma course in Engineering/Technology with minimum of 45% marks.
In case of Backward class categories and Physically Handicapped minimum 40% marks are required.
The medium of instruction should be English from AICTE approved Diploma Institutes affiliated to State Boards of technical Education.

MHT-CET 2016 (Engineering and Technology) Exam Schedule:

Usually, the MHT CET exam forms are issued in the month of March and the exam is conducted in the month of May.

This year this exam was conducted on 5th May, 2016.

MHT-CET 2016 (Engineering and Technology) Exam Scheme and Syllabus:

The MHT CET exam covers questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.

There is no negative marking in the exam.

This year the paper was moderately difficult.

MHT-CET 2016 (Engineering and Technology) Exam Physics Syllabus:

This year the physics section was a little tough and quite lengthy.

It included questions from Radiation, Kinematics, and Electron & Proton, etc.

MHT-CET 2016 (Engineering and Technology) Exam Chemistry Syllabus:

This year, the paper had very few numericals and mostly information-based questions.

It included questions from structure of atom, equilibrium, and thermodynamics, etc.

MHT-CET 2016 (Engineering and Technology) Exam Biology Syllabus:

This year, compared to Zoology more number of questions were from Botany.

MHT-CET 2016 (Engineering and Technology) Exam Mathematics Syllabus:

This year, the paper for Mathematics was easy with a lot of scope for scoring.

It included questions from Circle, Continuity, Hyperbola and Matrices, etc.

MHT-CET 2016 (Engineering and Technology) Exam Pattern:

The question paper is available in English, Marathi or Urdu.

There are 200 Multiple Choice/Objective Type Questions.

Duration of the exam is 3 hours (180 minutes).

No negative marking.

MHT-CET 2016 (Engineering and Technology) Cutoff:

MHT CET 2016 cutoff rank is based on various factors like the availability of seats, number of candidates appeared in the entrance exam and difficulty level of the question papers.

Candidates from now onwards who are appearing for MHT-CET or MH-CET 2016 will be eligible for admission into various medical, engineering and health science programs.
