UPSEE 2016 had MCQ type questions (except drawing test as part B of paper 4 for Architecture program).
There were different total marks for each paper - paper 1, 2 and 3 carried 600 marks/paper 4 carried 500 marks/paper 5, 6, 7 and 8 carried 300 marks/paper 9, 10, 11, and 12 carried 400 marks.
Paper 1, 2, 3 and 4 were OMR based tests.
Paper 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and Paper 12 were computer based tests.
4 marks for each correct answer and no negative marking. However, a record of incorrect answers given by a candidate will be kept separately.
For UG courses all the papers were scheduled in offline mode in MCQ format. For PG courses all the papers were scheduled in online mode in MCQ format.
All the papers were bilingual (Hindi and English), except for Part-A of paper 4.
