Syllabus UPSE Exam - Latest Syllabus

UPSE Exam:

UPSE examination is held for admission to the following courses:

1st year of B.Tech, B.Tech (Biotech), B.Tech (Ag), B.Arch, B.Pharm, B.HMCT, B.FAD, B.FA, MBA, MCA, Integrated MBA (5 years Dual Degree).

Lateral entry admission into 2nd Year of B.Tech, B.Pharm, MCA.

UPSE Exam 2016 Eligibility:

1. Candidate should be a resident of Uttar Pradesh (for others please refer to the official PDF on the right).

2. Candidate must have passed class 12th from a government recognized board for all UG courses.

3. For UG course - Aspirants applying for should have scored an aggregate of
- 45% for general category
- 40% in case of reserved category
- Only B. Arch will require the qualifying marks as 50%.

4. For PG courses - (i) General category - 50%
(ii) Reserved Category - 45%

5. For lateral entry in B. Tech or B. Pharma, candidates must have three year diploma in relative field
- 45% for general category
- 40% in case of reserved candidates

6. There is no age limit for UPSEE 2016.

UPSE Exam 2016 Schedule:

This year

- Paper 1, 2, 3 and 4 were conducted on 17th April, 2016.
- Exam for paper 5, 6, 7 and 8 on 23rd April, 2016.
- Exam for paper 9, 10, 11 and 12 on 24th April, 2016.

Candidates aspiring for next year's exam should start preparing from now onwards itself.

i) The application form is expected to come out in the last week of February, 2017.
ii) The applications process will continue tilll the last week of March, 2017.
iii) The application form will be available online only.
iv) The UPSE exam is expected to be conducted in the third week of April, 2017.
v) The result would be announced in the last week of May, 2017.

Paper 1 consisted of three subjects -

1. Physics

2. Chemistry

3. Mathematics

UPSE Exam 2016 Paper 2 Syllabus:

Paper 2 consisted of three subjects -

1. Physics

2. Chemistry

3. Biology - It has two sub-divisions:
i) Zoology
ii) Botany

UPSE Exam 2016 Paper 3 Syllabus:

Paper 3 consisted of AG 1, AG 2 and AG 3 -

1. AG 1 - Agricultural Physics and Chemistry

2. AG 2 - Agricultural Engineering and Statistics

3. AG 3 - Agronomy and Agricultural Botany

UPSE Exam 2016 Paper 4 Syllabus:

Paper 4 consisted of Aptitude Test for Architecture.

i) Part A - Mathematics and Aesthetic Sensitivity

ii) Part B - Drawing Aptitude

UPSE Exam 2016 Paper 5 Syllabus:

Paper 5 consisted of Aptitude Test for General Awareness

1. Reasoning and Logical Deduction

2. Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude

3. General Knowledge

4. English Language

Paper 6 consisted of Aptitude Test for Diploma Holders in Engineering.

UPSE Exam 2016 Paper 9 Syllabus:

Paper 9 consisted of Aptitude Test for MBA -

Section A (English Language)
Section B (Numerical Aptitude)
Section C (Thinking and Decision Making)
Section D (General Awareness)

UPSE Exam 2016 Paper 10 Syllabus:

Paper 10 consists of Aptitude Test for MCA -

This paper consists of the following three sections
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Logical Ability

UPSE Exam 2016 Paper 11 Syllabus:

Paper 11 Aptitude Test for Masters in Applied Management (dual degree course 5 years). The test is aimed at assessing the quantitative aptitude, language, logic and reasoning power etc. It consisted of -

Section A (English Language)
Section B (Numerical Aptitude)
Section C (Mental Ability)
Section D (General Knowledge & Current Affairs)

UPSE Exam 2016 Paper 12 Syllabus:

Paper 12 consisted of Aptitude Test for 2nd Year MCA (Lateral Entry) -

It consisted of the following sections:
1. Mathematical Structures
2. Computing Concepts
3. Reasoning Ability

Candidates will be assessed on their reasoning and logical ability.

UPSE Exam 2016 Pattern:

UPSEE 2016 had MCQ type questions (except drawing test as part B of paper 4 for Architecture program).

There were different total marks for each paper - paper 1, 2 and 3 carried 600 marks/paper 4 carried 500 marks/paper 5, 6, 7 and 8 carried 300 marks/paper 9, 10, 11, and 12 carried 400 marks.

Paper 1, 2, 3 and 4 were OMR based tests.
Paper 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and Paper 12 were computer based tests.

4 marks for each correct answer and no negative marking. However, a record of incorrect answers given by a candidate will be kept separately.

For UG courses all the papers were scheduled in offline mode in MCQ format. For PG courses all the papers were scheduled in online mode in MCQ format.

All the papers were bilingual (Hindi and English), except for Part-A of paper 4.

UPSE Exam 2016 Cutoff:

The UPSEE 2016 results got declared on 27th May, 2016.

As per UP State Govt order, the cut-off percentage of marks for the merit of successful candidates is 25% and 20%for SC/ST.
